Dear Bruce:
The photo I refered to is from the launch issue of Olympic from Engineering. I thought it might have been another magazine but it is the same one I refered to in the 'bottom color' series of postings on the board, where I refered to the picture of the forecastle of olympic looking aft, and the steel structural work was still being built. Engineering and The Engineer have the same reference in "The Reader's Guide". I think they were published by the same people "The Design Council", I know they were published on the same street in London. They are folio size about 2 incles thick from 700 to 1000 pages.
I thought the photo was in Scientific American but I just found the posted message on the board and it is Engineering. It was a weekly issued journal, so you can narrow the search to right after the launching date.
Engineering started in the 1890's and went to the 1950's. SMU has all of them, they were given to them by Carnegie.
Sincerely,
James Pepper
