What are your references for the differences in the T and O's hulls? I won't doubt that the internal arrangements may be slightly different, but I haven't checked. Where did you find that the funnels were foreward more on the Olympic?
The outside of the hull is the same. The ships were built from the same set of plans. I know because I have them. There are notations for 400 and 401 in the very few places where they were different. The rigging plans are not meant to be used as shell plans or engine room plans, or whatever. They are for rigging. Those plans are not the most accurate when it comes to the rest of the ship because they weren't meant to be.
The Britannic also had a compass on her compass platform. The Olympic had a compass installed on her bridge roof also at a later date,after the war.
