Those letters are not Greek symbols, they are simply hand-written "a", "b", "k", "g", etc. That top view drawing was inserted into the new manual from the old one (I have the old kit, and with this kit they shipped a manual that is marked (c) 1998 Minicraft but there is no color mixing guide in this booklet). Unfortunately they forgot to delete these old references.
On page 3 of this old manual, there is the same drawing with the G/F part tree to the left (just like in the new manual), and on the next page (page 4) there is the "H" tree. The vents on both trees were marked with "a", "b"... "m" to facilitate the placing of the vents.
