Yes you are right about the different tanks and the filters. The O and T had separate tanks for washing water, fresh water and salt water. The fresh water and washing water should be on the port side along with possibly a salt water tank. The starboard side probably had a fresh water tank also, with the filters being in the tank room located on A deck. This fits with my new find. If both sides had a fresh water tank then that is a good reason why the inside port pipe loop connects to both sides. There should also be filters located on a lower deck. The hot water should have been heated somewhere around the Turkish baths I believe. The tank seen aft of the #1 funnel, starboard, is a water tank. There is also a hot salt water tank (maybe two) in the casing just fore of the #1 funnel. This is why you see another pipe loop fore and aft of the #1 funnel. The smaller and thinner pipes seen on the funnels were overflows.
