I just read through a series of articles on the launching of the Britannic, which explain the differences between it and its sister ships. Water was taken out of tanks in the keel and on the tank top at the very bottom of the ship, passed through a Pasteur Filter and then accumulated on the boat deck for drinking water. The water pumped to the tank room was for the toilets, etc.
On Olympic and Titanic, there were 350 waste pipes from the various rooms that emptied just above the water line. On Britannic they set up a main that pumped it out below the water line.
On all three ships the water was regulated from the Engine Room.
I have a list of some of the machinery in the Britannic, including bridge indicators, they were enhanced following the loss of the Titanic. Also I noticed the dog kennels on the stern. Britannic was 900 feet long, 94 feet wide and had 17 water-tight compartments.
