Dan:
I agree 100%. The last thing I am proposing is
a make work time consuming bureaucracy. All I
am really looking at right now is a name for us.
The guiding priciple on these things should be
"less is more".

: I like the ideas you're presenting, but I for one am into the Titanic as a hobby, and I like the freedom the hobby and this web board offers. I can work as much or as little on it as I desire or wish as time permits. Because it is a hobby, there comes little personal obligation. I have entered into hobbies that became 'clubs' by membership, and the fun, hobby setting gave way to business, then became a monotonous burden. Don't mistake me, I am all for the idea, but I also admonish that a lot of research and careful planning has to go into such a venture. And, regarding what was mentioned by turning it into a paid membership club with perks, I can say that as a published book author, there is a lot of time and money devoured in paperwork for tax licenses and everything that goes with it in this sort of thing. It would take a dedicated person to do a lot of work to make this thing happen. Coming up with an official name for the modelers among us is good - how far can it, or, should it, be taken after that?

: Looking forward to seeing where it goes!
