: I have been looking at shipping ads of the day, In 1940 there was an advertisement for The International Paint & Compositions Co. Ltd, Grosvenor Gardens House Victoria, London, SW1 which supplied pain to most of british shipping. Their trade names to their paints are "International", "Tanctectol", "Non-Slip Deck Paint" "IPC Oil Resisting Compound" "IPC" Matt Surface Topside Paint" and "Pintoff". I believe International Paint is still in business. Surely these were patented and a record of that patent exists.
: Also I have found the Switchgear for the Mauritania, Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, they are Whipp & Bourne Ltd., of Castleton, Manchester. (Electicial Switches). Perhaps an investigation into the patents is in order.

Jim,
Great Find.....I think you are right. Maybe tracing down the manufacturer of the paints used on Titanic is the way to go.. Great Idea!!!
