: The life boats shoud be natural teak inside. The gunwales were painted hence the different shade but the interiors show the wood grain and as we know, teak is never painted.

I am a little confused about the teak interiors vs. the white exteriors of the lifeboats unless they were double planked. I had always assumed that the planking visible at the interior was the inside of a single layer of planking which also constituted the exterior of the boats.
I don't think there is any disagreement regarding the boat exterior planking being painted white, but that makes me wonder if the planking material was actually teak. Was there an inner layer of teak planking? If so, the FineScale may not be so far off, as tak does tend to "grey-out" [I recall the teak decks of the USS Canberra from a previous life of mine.] However, the grey would then be less of a blue-grey and show a little difference in color from plank to plank, even if the grain would not show in 1/350 scale.
