Oh the blisters Ive gotten on my fingers from spending hours with a pin drill and the amounts of plastic odors I've inhaled from playing with Dremel's to keep from spending hours with that pin drill.

The best results Ive gotten:

Hallow out all the portholes with the pin drill (have a lot more control over the tool than a Dremel).

Paint the insides of the large portholes copper (no, I have no proof that there was copper seals around those portholes... just a little artistic lisence).

Fill all the portholes with Aircraft Canopy Glue (or Testor's Window Glue, etc) to simulate the glass... you really dont see much of it but there's a hint of gleem of the "glass".

Paint the inside of the model white... the white just barely shows through the now glued over windows but look a little better than a black window on a black hull.
