Well, the short answer to that question is "yes"...
The Titanic's rigging (and that of all other steamers of the period) was a mixed bag of the modern and the anachronistic. You can find a variant of almost all of these methods of attachment. Hopefully, Bob Read will add his expertise to this thread, as he has been very good at this particular subject in the past.
