I was looking through "Triumph and Tragedy" by Eaton and Haas an I found a couple of interesting things.
1. On p.31 the entries in the Builders Specification Book are being excerpted. A few weeks ago we were having a discussion about what kind of compound was used in the bolt depressions on the end caps of the
propellers and on the rudder straps. Several people thought it might be Portland cement. Well, give those
men a SeeGar. One of the sections that is ten pages long in the Builders Specification Book is "Cementing and Painting".
2. On p. 169 is a photo of Titanic at Southampton.
The Marconi antennae have been drawn in rather
crudely but the interesting thing is that if you
look closely you can see the painters lines on the
funnels in use by a gang of painters on funnels #1
and #2.
