I just received my Britannic plans and what a treasure chest they have opened into the roofs over the boat deck. No cowls unfortunately but a clarification of the two skylights.
The Britannic shows each skylight having three square window panes on each side of a tent shaped structure. I have digitally enlarged a photo of T that I own and I can see only two per side not three, at least on the crew lavatory skylight. I believe Marschall has them correct on his cut away painting with a few exceptions.
The Britannic has the Marconi skylights metal sides facing port and starboard. The wreck mosaic does indicate this, as the shape is not the exact same as the foreward lavatory skylight. The foreward lavatory skylight has the metal sides facing fore and aft. This is how Ken paints them and I concur. I found that the Marconi skylight appears to be a little taller then the Lavatory skylight from my photos.
To sum it up. Ken has them right in the cut away for the most part, just spin the Marconi skylight 90 degrees so the sides face outboard. If you want to make it taller, it's your call, it looks taller to me. Oh, and they are a dark color ( brown?) other H&W ships that I've seen pictures of, specifically the Minnehaha, show windows encased and mullioned in wood ( teak probably) with the steel frames painted the same color to match.
