Well...it's at least what I had hoped for, which means I'm going to buy one, although considering how the distribution end of the hobby business works, if I actually get the chance before the end of August I will fall over in a dead faint.
I do not expect much (if any) improvement in the hull plating because I believe that would require an entirely new hull die. Minicraft alone knows how much they can afford to spend, or indeed how much they had to give Academy for the rights to the 1/350.
I assume the price will be in the same range as the old one, and whether that's worth it is a personal decision. I would suggest however, that before you kvetch about the cost, add up the total you have spent so far...
Obviously, Minicraft is not Tamiya or Hasegawa. But Minicraft IS our Titanic connection. I think sometimes we forget that the reason we here are focused on the Minicraft Titanic is not that the kit is perfect, but that it IS good enough to be perfectable. And they DO respond to us.
