: I'm sorry to say that I'm not impressed. The model has nothing which can't be acheived with a small amount of time and effort. Certainly nothing to warrant the expense of a new kit. Very disappointing...
: What happened to the prow and shackle? Why haven't the bothered to get the colours right at last on their preview model?
I have to agree with Russ...I am somewhat
dissapointed. Why didn't they work on the prow? Academy did on the 400 model, why couldn't Minicraft? Did they work on the deckgrain at
all? The Morse lamps look a little thick for scale. For the amount of money Minicraft has put into this we should see a 'NEW' model with MUCH greater detailing. So far it just seems that they added a few parts and just cleaned up the molds. To be honest they should have never shipped the hull unleveled to begin with. Will this model be any easier to fit together? Do we still need to do endless hours of scratch building to correct their errors? How much are we gonna have to pay for this new model and how much will we have to spend on photoetched parts to correct the obvious shortcomings? I for one feel that Minicraft could have done much better. I would have been willing to pay much more for a truly accurate model. Sorry to toss a wet blanket on the party, I just feel that Academy put more effort into retooling....even though there are many inaccuracies in the 400. It shows more effort.
Sorry Sean......Minicraft wasn't the first to retool. I suppose this won't be posted because it is somewhat negative. I just had to share my views.
