Reminds me of the fate of my first Minicraft Titanic model which I built in 1975. It was seriously damaged in 1988 when the apartment next door was gutted by fire -- the heat in my apartment got so bad that the masts started to melt. I kept the model and bought a new kit which I then made to replace it. While living in a house with a pool a few years later we sank the original in the pool and actually left it there for a while (until pieces of plastic railings and things started showing up in the filter). I still have that model and it is being cannabilized for extra parts for the one I am building now. My second one was weighted and though it floated on an even keel without the superstructure once the superstructure was added it had a pronounced list to starboard. (My Lusitania model did the same thing.) 8-( I gave this model to my good friend Susan Romanyuk, a Titanic historian last summer. The current one will be my third and hopefully most accurate.

Regards,
Bill
