: The best place to see the wreck's leadsman platform is at the beginning of Cameron's 'Titanic'. I have the wide-screen format, and when the subs pass by the A-Deck promenade, it shows the platform remains rather well. I don't know if this part was cropped out in the standard format though.
Dan, I checked out the movie and it does show it on the standard versionas well. Now here is something I did notice. At the beginning of the movie even before the movie's name appears is footage Cameron shot to look like `old' footage which shows the portside platform (though we know it is the starboard's `flipped'). What you see is is frame with the slats running from bow to stern. Now when you see the sunken one in the sub `flyby' notice that the starboard slatsare now pointing port to starboard! The sunken one from my understanding is a sunken model. The real Cameron Titanic footage has the recorder information in the corner of the screen and much more particle suspension in the water that you do -not- see in the sunken set. So we have his big ship set showing something different than the sunken model. At any rate I painted them brown with white holding brackets. Cheers, Mike
