In footage taken of the ship, you can still see the remains of the leadsman platform on the starboard side. So, likely at least part of it was made of metal. Perhaps metal based, then encased in wood.
Thanks Dan, I figured some of it is metal but wasn't certain if it had wood. I'll compare the Marschall page 44 painting in Exploring The Titanic with the Browne photo of Captain Smith looking out of the starboard wing cab for any clues as to which is which. Cheers, Mike
