I for one do not agree with those who say
Aquitania was the most beautiful Atlantic steamer
ever built. Many will say the Olympic class is
the most beautiful, with its stately lines,
raked funnels, etc. In comparison, Aquitania seems
to be a pretentious box plopped atop a hull!
The bridge could have been narrower, lending a
sleeker appearance, but NOOOOOOOO!
The designers piles deck upon deck with little
regard to external appearance. Yep, I think the
ship looked boxy, and therefore not the prettiest
looking Atlantic liner.
The interiors? Well, that's a different story!
