They "rock" because they have the tools and resources to make all this stuff. The model is inaccurate and is saddening compared to how they are bragging about it. This really gets me pissed. If your gonna brag to the point of stopping short of raising Thomas Andrews from the dead to build "THe most accurate model" then by God it better be accurate! Their are some blatant errors that are evident in the pictures that are inexcusable for people who are advertising some thing this "accurate". A couple of brass pieces with the rivets punched in them does nothing for me after I see the blatant mistakes. Now, little children and families as well as modelers like you and I will be looking at this thing and basing their ideas and thoughts on inaccurate information. That camber is so far off that if it were true, the crew wouldn't be able to keep any of the serving trays on wheels from hitting the walls. That camber would almost pass for the Lusitania's which was at 18 inches on one of the decks. If one wants to gloat over a GOOD model, gloat over the one from the movie, it seems to be a lot closer in accuracy. At least thier camber is right. The camber is REALLY noticeable on this Fine Art model as well as other features that a quick look at Fr. Brownes photos could have prevented them from doing it wrong.
I'm gonna do a 1/42 model of Stonhenge and advertise that it is the most accurate. I'm gonna stop short of raising Merlin from the dead and advertise it as the most accurate, then I'm gonna build the monoliths all bent over at some wild angle and advertise it on a web page as "the Most accurate". " the plans were found in the caves of some ancient Druid burial ground". I wonder what would happen then!
If any modeler wants to do the Titanic as "accurate" as possible, down load Roy Mengots modeling guide. These people apparently didn't and it shows.
Sorry if I sound hard on this but I feel real strong about it. I have put to much time and work into this subject to stand quiet in the face of ignorance. This will be my last word on that Fine Art Model!
Let me reiterate, It is probably the most accurate at this point with the exception of the movie model, however, The bragging and advertising call for an expectation of extreme accuracy and previously unknown details seen for the first time here. If this is somewhat true, and some of it may be, then don't screw up the obvious things! I'll be enjoying my Cinefex book and the fine job Digital Domain did!

Christopher, if you read this, those plans you see on Fine Art's web site are for the Titanic and Olympic and you can buy them from Harland and Wolff, they are the shell plating plans.
