: While looking for the cowl arrangement aft of the grand staircase dome I came across some more things.
: Photo references: P. 22 of Anatomy (or better quality of same picture, I own this picture in 16X20)
: Ballards Discovery book, The fold out Mosaic

: Gentlemen, The cover over the fore grand staircase has two port holes in the aft end and a rectangular duct running from the base of said cover to the air trunk vent aft of it. This duct is seen on the movie miniature ( Cameron's Titanic Explorer).

: In the picture listed above as seen in Anatomy and other books you can see a black dot on the aft end of the cover. I can see this real good when I enlarged my 16X20 photo. The cowl vent port of the air trunk is not on yet in this picture. I was wondering what that dot was until I looked at the wreck mosaic and plain as day there is a port hole there. The starboard one is harder to see. The duct is more apparent in the October of 87 National Geographic then it is in the Ballard book. I do not have the December of 85 issue in my possession yet.

Hello Bruce, I had just sent you some e-mail on this concerning this skylight pipe. Based on the photo reference you have mentioned do you think this vent is raised or on the roof? I first thought the roof but it looks like a shadow under it in the picture. Is this more defined in your enlarged version? Also do you think the Titanic then had these same 2 portholes on the forward end of the Skylight like the Olympic? Can't say I have seen a photo showing this perspective for the T but the O had them. Seems odd to just have them on the aft side, no? Opinions? Cheers, Mike
