: I'm not 100% sure of the release of this model, but it was either '74 or '75. I first heard about the pending availability of the Entex kit through the Titanic Commutator, the journal of the Titanic Historical Society. I actually ordered my kit through THS prior to the official release of the kit; many other THS members did as well. The Ken Marschall port profile that was used on the box was reproduced in black and white on the back of one of the '74 issues of the Commutator, the one in which I believe the announcement was made. It was quite an exciting day when UPS delivered that big box to my door! It's hard to remember, but I think the price was $29-$30, a hell of a lot of money, considering that the typical Revelle or Monogram kits on the shelf at the local hobby shop were in the $2 to $4 range! Even so, when they finally started arriving at the shops, they were often sold before they were on the shelf!

i remember when you bought and finished the model..it was whilw we were in highschool.
you did a great job on the model. i still envy it.
i remember at the time that the model cost $1/ inch
