Not to throw a monkey wrench into the works, I recently toyed with the idea of doing a Titanic at the moment of breakup and suspending the model in that clear liquid plastic (celaform?) that hardens, so you can see the ship's bow under the water, fittings coming loose, etc.
Or, I would choose the Olympic project. :-)
