This may be a stupid question, but having just bought the Minicraft 1/350 Titanic (interestingly with an up-to-date book/tv/film list at the back of the manual), and having got to Step 5 I think it is (after 2 weeks work on the hull alone..!), I am slightly puzzled. The manual says to lay the deck sections D1 and D2 on a ledge inside the hull (using liberal cement!). However in my hull there are two ledges, one slightly above the other. The lower ledge is wider, but is no where near level, and is below the line of portholes. The upper ledge is narrow, but much more level, and in line with the portholes. For the deck to be level, the top ledge must be the one, but then it blocks the portholes, and what is the lower ledge for?
Hope someone can help me out!
