Roy,
I've done an analysis on this area of the Titanic for a while now, and so help me I cannot find these ports in any of the pictures I have. Using the formula you gave, the outer ports should line up with the outer walls of the 2nd class entrance deck house. However, in examining all the pictures I can find of this area, the ports should be visible at least on the port side, where more pictures offer a view inside this visual line between the entrance house and the aft wall. Yet there is nothing. Is it entirely possible that these ports were something else that was below deck? I know you said the plate is still attached so it didn't land there. Perhaps it bent up and back like a below deck structure would, rather than smash down flat like the aft wall would. I can't find any pre-wreck photo evidence where there should be, and unless there's a steel decking drawing or schematic showing these, I will have to leave them off my model.
Any thoughts, Roy?
Kind regards,
Dan
