: I think Scott is absolutely correct. The Wells plan only shows first class areas, and since that's a border, there was no detail drawn. The thin white line is misleading.
: Anyway, there is (almost) photo proof that the door was there. Check out the Shipbuilder book. In the chapter describing Titanic that is from a later issue, figure 3 (different page # depending on the edition you have) there is a rendering of the Cafe looking aft. A door is clearly seen on the aft wall.
Based on all the sound evidence you, Scott, David and others have presented, I went ahead and added the door. Problem was i aleady had that area of the 1/350 build so it called for some creative thinking in order to reach down in there where the partition was. What I ended up doing was cutting a door from sheet plastic. I then reached through the open promenaden B-deck aft on a 45 degree angle with a piece of pulled sprue that had a dab of glue on it. I touched it to this Cafe Parisien partition at the location i wanted the door to go. Now the door would not fit through the promenade walls so I had to go towards it from the well deck in. I puled a piece of sprue greater in length than the recessed promenade with the hand by the well deck. Once made I added a bit of spittal to the end of the pulled sprue and dabbed it to the door causing it to stick to the sprue. I then lifted it and moved the door down the promenade walkway until I was able to touch the partition wall and then pressed it to the glue dab put there previously. Then with a toothpick I was able to minutely adjust the door so it sat properly and wasn't tilted in any way. Hey it worked! ;-)
