: I would like to build an interior in the tank room.
: can anyone tell me what was in there?

The light and air shaft to the galley at the aft end is walled in.
The area the width of a funnel uptak (20') is open to the front of the recips below.
There is no glass under the covers. The covers have port holes, but if open, it's open to the keel.
My plans only show the double bracing in the decks to support the tanks, not the plumbing or the stair/ladder way up from below.
The plans for A and the Boat deck show the extra girder below and the tank and 'portable wall' for installing a tank in the aft starboard corner of the lounge pantry on A-deck.
For the tank placement, go by the McCluskie book. Guess at the pipes.
Oddly, the placement of the double bracing in the floors and mountings on the starboard side suggest that an engineer's smoke room wasn't originally intended. That sounds like a Tom Andrews change to me.
The plans show 6"X3"X.38" tee foundations for the tanks.
