: Scott,
: You where talking about the "Titanic II" ship plans that The THS has for sale.Is the plan much differant than plan of
: titanic & Olympic? If so,In what way? Is it worth shelling out $40 Yankee Green Backs?

Tom,
This ship which THS has dubbed "Titanic II" is a completely different ship from the Olympic-class. She would have borne some resemblance in that she was designed with four funnels and the typical H&W straight, nearly vertical stem, but she would have had a "cruiser" stern similar in appearance to that of the Queens. Her internal layout would have been different, but the basic stateroom sizes and layouts appear similar. I don't have a copy of these plans myself, but I going by the initial ad in the Commutator for these plans which had a picture of the internal profile view and a few of the decks. Are they worth $40? That depends... Are you interested in a set of general arrangements of an unnamed and unbuilt liner, or are you interested in the history of the WSL, H&W and the history of the design of passenger ships, or would you be interested in scratchbuilding a model of what potentially could have been the first thousand-footer? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, the answer would have to be an unqualified "yes".
Regards,
Scott
