I am converting a 1/400th scale Titanic model into the Britannic. The only problem is that I have no idea how the boat deck was set-up. I am going to make the other conversions(covered aft-well deck, etc.), but I am not sure about the following things. I have only seen the two color Marshall paintings of the Britannic among the other b/w ones. How was the boat deck colored; example, I am almost certain the cowl vents were the same color as the Funnels, but what about everything else?(such as staircase covers, compass tower, other ventalators, etc.) Also, I understand there were 48 boats on board. Other than the 6 on each side toward the middle of the boat deck, and the 2 on the stern, how where the others set-up; in groups of 6? And finally, (about) how tall should the Gantry davits be?
If you have scratch-built this model, converted the 1/350th model, or just know anything about the Britannic, please e-mail me.
Thanks in advance,
David DeJarnett
P.S. My Britannic is going to be built as she was during wartime, and I have no other color resources other than the 2 Marshall pictures in "Lost Liners." Does anyone know of any other books I should find?
