As previously stated, my son and I are assembling the 1/350 scale size of the RMS Titanic. We have found that basic "hardware store spray paints" can be very useful and efficient in painting various parts of the titanic.
For the hull below the waterline, we used a
semigloss rust-red spray paint - Harris
for the mid portion of hull, we used flat black.
for the upper white strip --- we used flat off white.
Each of the paints we used had a maximum drying time of 10 minutes.
Using masking tape, we placed the hull face down and then spray painted each section, starting from the bottom up. rust-red, black, then white.
REsults were incredible. For many of the smaller parts, we have used spray paint and have had great results. Among the colors we have used are LIght Ivory (semi-gloss) for the decks, Off-white flat for the walls and PEACH FLAT for smaller details.
Photos of this will soon be posted.
Would like some help concerning the proper color scheme to be used for the funnels.
