: Anybody know what the proper shade of red should be below the waterline? I have been unable to find a "rust red" or Pactra "terra cotta" that the instructions suggest. Roy M. suggested Testors 1785 "rust". Any thoughts?

I'll let you in on a secret. I know a model builder from the film "Titanic" whom I asked the same question. He said they used, get this, Rustoleum Brown-Red Primer on the movie model for the hull bottom. It was the closest they could come to the Britanic Red used on the real ship. Remember, this is our little secret. He'd probably kill me for telling you!

For the white areas, use Floquil reefer white, which is what he said they used on the film models. You'll have to spray 6 or 7 coats to make it look good.
