I like your idea of using thin copper wire for the radio aerials. However, instead of ink, try using commercial Birchwood Casey "Brass Black" to color the wires. This is usually available in sporting goods stores. The same result can be achieved using a paste made of powdered sulfur and water or oil and applied with a Q-tip. The advantage is that there is even less buildup than with ink - it actually oxidizes the surface of the metal itself.

By the way, are your copper strands thin enough to use with Gold Medal's photoetched antenna spreaders? --Alex A.
