: Sounds like a terrific project. I'd like to suggest a good source for blueprints etc. but don't know one. Harland and Wolfe wants $150 for a set! Enjoy the scratchbuilding, check and see if Preiser Gmbh has figures in the right scale to populate her, and...keep her away from ice!
** Dear Fellow ship builders. Your subject matter qucikly caught my eye since I am, by nature, a scratch builder. The Academy version is very nice but I , for one, would like to witness a version of much more mass and proportion and also something that will have perhaps a little more impact as an heirloom quality model. Also being a lover of protoype I usually attempt to employ, as close as possible, authentic constuction materials. The challenge of fabricating one's own hand made miniature components is most satisfying and have, over the years, gained a sense of self containment as many subjects, while not normally readily available as kits, may be seen through to fruition with LOTS of patience, LOTS of experience, LOTS of skill, and LLLOTS of time. Last but, certainly not least, the most highly detailed accurate plans one cam possibly obtain. Your 8 ft. TITANIC tempts me greatly and I think I a very foolish, crazy, somewhat stupid dream is beginning to unfold here and that would be something like a 15 ft. rendition of our beloved, bygone, mega vessel here.
I would sincerely appreciate any information leading to good sources of plans sheets and I thank you very much for your kind consideration.
Richard
